Hyperfest is almost here!!!
This weekend at Summit Point Motorsports Park is the 10th annual NASA Mid Atlantic Hyperfest event which couples a typical action packed NASA race weekend with a drift competition, car show, hyperdrives, and spectator competitions into one weekend. This event has been hugely successful in the past, making it a must do on your annual automotive calendar.
I am teamed up with the Drive Gear's team to race a Spec E30 BMW in events both Saturday and Sunday. It has almost been a year since I drove at Summit Point so being competitive and coming home with a win might take some work. The Spec E30 cars are momentum based so every corner must be maximized. Take a few minutes to check out the in car footage of me testing a Lexus IS300 at Summit Point last summer to get a better feel of the track.
Many of you know about my intentions of creating a young drivers development program that travels to schools and organizations and is free of charge to participants. I believe young drivers need more than anti-texting campaigns to make them successful behind the wheel. Young drivers need practical advice and information, as well as simulation or in-car instruction. Because of recent partnerships, we feel that now we have a formidable program in both content and structure and are able to do just this. One of those recent partnerships is Child Safety Incorporated. Child Safety Incorporated (CSI) has been identified both by law enforcement and human trafficking activists as a solution to help create a safer family, and ultimately, a safer community. Using technology, an awareness, prevention, and education programs, AND the first ever 6 stage missing person alert program, C.S.I. has become the answer to the ever growing concern of how best to keep children, and entire families safer. We Now have two great programs that we can offer schools and organizations across the US.
